Beckham Returns to New York Giants on Veteran Deal
Odell Beckham Jr. has signed with the New York Giants, returning to the franchise that drafted him 11 years ago and with which he spent the first five seasons of his NFL career before being traded to the Cleveland Browns in 2019.
The signing adds depth to a Giants receiving corps that may be without Malik Nabers for the start of the regular season after the young receiver sustained a knee injury. Beckham’s path back to the league has been gradual: he played nine games for the Miami Dolphins in 2024, recording nine catches for 55 yards, and did not appear in an NFL regular-season game in 2025. He worked out for the Giants ahead of the draft, with head coach John Harbaugh – who also coached Beckham during the 2023 season with the Baltimore Ravens – speaking positively about the receiver’s physical condition and mentality at that time.
Beckham’s tenure with the Giants from 2014 to 2018 produced 390 receptions for 5,476 yards and 44 touchdowns. Selected 12th overall in the 2014 draft out of LSU, he earned three Pro Bowl selections and the 2014 Offensive Rookie of the Year award. His most recent full season came in 2023 with Baltimore, where he caught 35 passes for 565 yards and three touchdowns across 14 games after recovering from a torn ACL suffered in Super Bowl LVI with the Los Angeles Rams.
Beckham is not guaranteed a place on the 53-man roster when final cuts are made before the regular season. He joins a wide receiver group that currently includes Nabers, Darius Slayton, Calvin Austin III, Darnell Mooney, rookie Malachi Fields, and Braxton Berrios.
