beIN Sports secures LA 2028 rights deal

Qatar’s beIN Sports has secured exclusive media rights for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games across the Middle East and North Africa, strengthening the country’s push toward a potential 2036 Olympic bid. The agreement with the International Olympic Committee was confirmed on Tuesday and covers broadcast and digital platforms in 24 territories.

IOC president Thomas Bach called the deal “a strong signal of commitment to the Olympic movement,” while beIN Media Group CEO Yousef Al-Obaidly said the network was “proud to bring the Games to millions of viewers across the region.” An industry analyst noted the timing “underlines Qatar’s long-term Olympic ambitions.”

The contract adds to beIN’s expanding global sports portfolio and positions the broadcaster at the center of Olympic coverage in the region ahead of LA 2028.
