Bhambri Makes History With Landmark ATP Doubles Rise

Indian tennis player Yuki Bhambri scripted a major milestone on Tuesday, February 4, becoming the first Indian after Rohan Bopanna to break into the ATP doubles top 20 rankings, underlining his rapid rise on the global stage.
The 31-year-old achieved the feat following a string of consistent performances on the ATP Tour, where he has collected crucial wins and titles over the past year. “This means a lot after everything I’ve been through,” Bhambri said. “The hard work, patience and belief are finally paying off.”
Bhambri, once sidelined by recurring injuries in singles, rebuilt his career by focusing on doubles, a decision he says changed everything. “Switching focus gave me a fresh start,” he added. “I’m enjoying my tennis again.”
Former India No.1 Rohan Bopanna praised the achievement, saying, “Yuki’s journey is inspiring. He has earned this with discipline and persistence.”
Bhambri’s rise strengthens India’s presence in elite doubles tennis as the season gathers momentum.
