Canadiens sign Bryce Pickford to three-year deal
The Montreal Canadiens have locked up WHL breakout defenseman Bryce Pickford, agreeing a three-year entry-level contract announced on December 24 in Brossard, as the club continues to stockpile young talent for the future.
“The team has agreed to terms on a three-year, entry-level contract… with defenseman Bryce Pickford,” the Canadiens said in a release. The 19-year-old, captain of the Medicine Hat Tigers, has been on a tear—25 goals and 19 assists in 31 games, with his goal total leading the WHL and his 44 points sitting fourth league-wide.“Pickford was selected… 81st overall” in the 2025 NHL Draft, and Montreal now gets time to keep tracking his rise before the next step in pro hockey.
