Dana White denies Jon Jones ever planned for UFC White House card

UFC president Dana White has rejected claims that Jon Jones was close to fighting on the upcoming UFC White House card, responding to the former champion’s social media outburst after he was left off the historic event announced during the UFC 326 broadcast.

Jones, who had been involved in discussions with the promotion, vented his frustration online before deleting several posts questioning the negotiations. “I’m released from the UFC? Make this make sense,” Jones wrote, adding in another message: “So all of this negotiating was complete bullsh*t?”

Speaking after Zuffa Boxing 4, White insisted the situation had been misunderstood. “I never said there were no negotiations,” he explained. “We talk to everybody, but I’ve said many times that Jon Jones wasn’t fighting on the White House card.”

White also pointed to concerns about Jones’ condition. “Have you seen the video where he says his hips are shot and he might need a replacement?” he said. “No way in hell Jon was going to be booked for that event.”

The card will instead feature Alex Pereira facing Ciryl Gane for the interim heavyweight title while champion Tom Aspinall continues recovering from an eye injury.
