Indian shuttler Devika Sihag continued her impressive run by reaching the women’s singles final at the Azerbaijan International on Saturday, while Sathwiksairaj Rankireddy and Radhika Merchant clinched the mixed doubles title in Baku. Sihag dominated her semifinal in straight games to underline her strong form this season, showing control and consistency at key moments.
“I felt confident on court and stuck to my plan,” Sihag told journalists after the match. Her opponent admitted the difference came down to composure, saying Sihag “handled the pressure better in rallies.”
Earlier, Sathwki and Radhika sealed the mixed doubles crown with a fluent win, sealing the match without dropping a game. “We complemented each other well today,” Radhika said, while Sathwki added that the title “gives us momentum for the upcoming tournaments.”
