Djokovic fuels talk of Serena Williams return
Novak Djokovic has sparked fresh speculation about a Serena Williams comeback, saying the tennis world would be thrilled to see the 23-time Grand Slam champion return to the court.
Speaking during a recent media appearance, the Serbian star said fans and players remain excited about the possibility of Williams competing again after stepping away from the sport in 2022.
“Everybody would be excited to see Serena back,” Djokovic said. “She’s one of the greatest athletes our sport has ever seen.”
The former world No.1 added that Williams’ presence always raises the level of any tournament. “When Serena plays, the attention and energy around tennis grow instantly,” he noted.
Williams, who won 23 Grand Slam singles titles during her legendary career, has not confirmed any comeback plans, but Djokovic believes her impact on the sport remains unmatched.
