Doncic Reveals 8-Week Timeline, Likely to Miss Entire Thunder Series

The Lakers are going to be without Luka Dončić for a while. Possibly the whole series.

The superstar guard gave his clearest update yet on Wednesday. The doctors told him eight weeks when the first MRI came back on April 3. He’s been running. He hasn’t been cleared for full contact. Do the maths — eight weeks from April 3 lands around the end of May. The second-round series against OKC starts now.

Dončić flew to Spain for PRP treatment — four injections, four days between each one. He said it was worth it. But worth it for recovery doesn’t mean worth it for the immediate series.

Game 1 was already without him. The Lakers are 15.5-point underdogs against a Thunder team that went 64-18 and swept Phoenix. LeBron is doing what he can. Without Dončić, it’s a very steep hill.

“I’m trying everything to get back,” he said.

The clock is against him.
