Ex-WWE broadcaster Kayla Becker reveals moment when pro wrestling got her hooked

Becker identifies Royal Rumble as pivotal moment in her wrestling career

Kayla Becker joined WWE after hosting a local travel segment and was invited to Full Sail University for initial tapings. She had no prior exposure to professional wrestling yet accepted the role and remained with the company for eight years. During that time she worked as a ring announcer for house shows, conducted backstage interviews and appeared on pre-show broadcasts.

Becker described the Royal Rumble as the event that first captured her interest. She attended the pay-per-view while still working on the NXT brand and recalled feeling immediate excitement from the atmosphere inside the arena. The experience convinced her that she wanted to remain in the industry and eventually announce on the main roster.

She later distinguished between her duties, noting that ring announcing required memorizing names, weights and hometowns under live conditions while backstage interviews allowed greater involvement in storytelling. Becker credited John Cena with providing early guidance on performance and preparation during her house show assignments.

Becker has since left WWE and partnered with BZZR to cover a wider range of sports. She continues to appear at public events while maintaining her broadcasting work.
