Ferrari Launch Barcelona Tests With Leclerc, Hamilton

Ferrari have begun their Barcelona test programme as Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton shared track time in mixed wet and dry conditions ahead of the new Formula One season. The running took place this week at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya as the team gathered early performance data.

Leclerc handled the morning session in damp conditions before Hamilton took over in the afternoon as the track dried, allowing Ferrari to evaluate tyre behaviour and car balance. “It was important to get mileage in different conditions,” Leclerc said. “Every lap helps at this stage.”

Hamilton echoed the focus on preparation. “These tests are about understanding the car and building rhythm,” he noted. “So far, it’s been productive.”

Ferrari engineers described the sessions as encouraging, with the team prioritising reliability and setup work. The Barcelona test marks an early step in Ferrari’s push to challenge for consistency and pace when the season begins.
