Green Day to open Super Bowl LX with live performance

Rock band Green Day will headline the Super Bowl LX opening ceremony, the NFL confirmed on Tuesday, adding a major music act to the league’s biggest event. The game will be played in the United States next February, with the performance set to kick off the spectacle.

NFL officials said the choice reflects a push to blend football tradition with global music appeal. “Super Bowl LX will celebrate legacy and modern culture,” an NFL spokesperson said.

Green Day, known for decades of chart-topping hits and high-energy shows, called the invitation “an honour.” The opening act is expected to draw massive global viewership, setting the tone ahead of the championship game.
