Harmer, Verma win ICC Player of Month awards
England spinner Simon Harmer and India opener Shafali Verma were named ICC Players of the Month for November 2025, the world governing body announced on Monday, rewarding standout performances in international cricket across formats. The awards recognise their decisive roles for their teams during a busy month of competition.
Harmer earned the men’s honour after a dominant Test series in which he claimed double-digit wickets and scored crucial lower-order runs, repeatedly turning matches in England’s favour. “It’s special to be recognised at this level,” Harmer said, adding that his focus remains on “contributing in pressure moments for the team.”
Verma took the women’s award following a prolific run with the bat, piling up match-winning scores at a strike rate above 100 and anchoring India’s top order. “This motivates me to keep improving,” Verma said, crediting her teammates for consistent support.
An ICC official described both winners as “clear standouts in November,” noting that their performances had “a direct impact on results.” The monthly awards continue to spotlight individual excellence across the global game.
