Karting Legend Warns Racing Bulls Rookie Lindblad: Be Political or Fail

Karting Legend Chiesa Warns Lindblad to Curb Attitude or Risk F1 Career

Dino Chiesa has seen it all. The man who shaped Lewis Hamilton, Nico Rosberg, and Alex Albon in karting has a simple message for the sport’s newest sensation — Arvid Lindblad needs to grow up off the track, or the track will become the least of his problems.

Lindblad, the teenage Racing Bulls rookie, has impressed with raw pace and technical polish in his F1 debut. Chiesa sees Hamilton-like predator instincts in the Swede — smooth, adaptable, devastatingly quick.

But the temperament? That concerns him.

Chiesa recalled a telling incident from their karting days: after finishing second, Lindblad turned on his coach in fury. “He immediately said to me, ‘f*** you, you gave the best engine to him,'” Chiesa revealed.

The message from the karting legend was blunt. “You have to be polite when you arrive in F1,” Chiesa said. “You have to be more political — and Arvid is no politician.”

He is not wrong that the sport demands diplomacy. Only once drivers reach Verstappen or Hamilton status can they speak freely. Before that, the paddock is unforgiving.

Lindblad has the speed. The question is whether he has the patience to go with it.
