Klaebo wins 10th gold, USA take silver

Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo claimed his 10th Olympic gold medal in the men’s cross-country skiing relay on Sunday, powering Norway to victory as the United States secured a historic first-ever silver in the event.

Racing in the final leg, Klaebo surged clear in the closing stretch to seal another title at the Winter Games, further cementing his place among the sport’s all-time greats. Norway controlled much of the race, but the decisive move came in the final kilometers when Klaebo accelerated beyond his rivals.

“It’s hard to describe this feeling,” Klaebo said after the finish. “Ten gold medals is something I only dreamed about.”

The American quartet delivered a breakthrough performance, holding off Sweden to clinch silver. “We believed we could be on the podium,” a U.S. team member said. “This is huge for our program.”

Sweden settled for bronze after fading late. “We gave everything out there,” their anchor admitted.

For Klaebo, the milestone adds another chapter to a glittering Olympic career, while the U.S. result marks a new era in men’s cross-country skiing.
