Love Calls Jacobs Arrest Shocking, Urges Patience With Legal Process

Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love said he was stunned when he learned that running back Josh Jacobs had been arrested on domestic violence charges, addressing the matter publicly for the first time during organized team activities on Tuesday. Jacobs was booked into Brown County Jail on May 26 following a police response to a domestic disturbance complaint and was released the following day.

Jacobs faces five charges: a felony count of strangulation and suffocation and misdemeanor counts of battery, criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct, and intimidation of a victim. His legal team has denied the allegations and called for fairness and restraint. The District Attorney’s Office is still reviewing the evidence before making a formal charging decision, and Jacobs has returned to the field for OTAs while the review is ongoing.

Love said the team has spoken internally about the situation but that details are being kept private out of respect for the legal process. “I was shocked when I saw it,” Love told reporters, adding that uncertainty remains about what the outcome might be. He described internal discussions as frank but said everyone is waiting for the process to run its course.

With no formal charges filed yet and the DA’s review continuing, the Packers’ public position remains one of restraint. Love said Jacobs’ presence at practice has been welcome, but the team is taking a wait-and-see approach until the legal picture becomes clearer.
