Manchester United consider new left winger for summer

Manchester United are considering signing a new left winger in the summer transfer window after a series of departures left the squad short of options on the flank.
Alejandro Garnacho and Antony were sold last year, while Jadon Sancho is currently on loan and expected to leave when his contract expires. Marcus Rashford also departed after a fallout with former manager Ruben Amorim, leaving Amad Diallo as the only natural wide option for interim boss Michael Carrick.
Carrick admitted the club could strengthen the position. “You’re always looking at the balance of the squad to give you flexibility, so it’s definitely something to look at,” he said. Pressed further on whether United may target the left wing specifically, he added: “Quite possibly.”
For now, Carrick insists the team still has attacking solutions. “We can still be dangerous,” he said. “Matheus Cunha has played there and caused big problems one-on-one.”
RB Leipzig’s teenage winger Yan Diomande and Newcastle’s Anthony Gordon have both been linked with a potential move to Old Trafford.
