Mercedes dominate as Antonelli tops Bahrain test
Andrea Kimi Antonelli clocked the quickest lap on the final day of F1’s 2026 pre-season test in Bahrain, spearheading a Mercedes 1-2 at Sakhir.
The young Italian delivered a late-session surge to edge the field, while his teammate secured second, capping a strong outing for the Silver Arrows.
“The balance was good and we gathered valuable data,” Antonelli said. A team spokesperson added, “Performance and reliability were both encouraging.”
Mercedes’ pace-setting display now puts them firmly in the spotlight ahead of the season opener.
