Orioles Lose Dean Kremer to Quad Strain — Their 13th Player on the IL

Baltimore’s injury list just got longer. Again.
The Orioles placed starting pitcher Dean Kremer on the 15-day injured list with a right quad strain, retroactive to April 20, ahead of their series against the Boston Red Sox. Kremer was set to start Friday’s opener. Instead, Brandon Young has been recalled from the minors to take his spot on the mound.
Trevor Rogers starts Saturday. Kyle Bradish goes Sunday. The rotation reshuffles — and Kremer becomes the 13th Baltimore player currently on the IL.
The Orioles already lost starter Zach Eflin for the entire season to Tommy John surgery. The pitching depth is being tested in a way nobody planned for. And the Red Sox series is not an easy place to be patching things together.
