President Murmu Backs India’s Readiness for 2030 CWG Bid

President Droupadi Murmu has expressed confidence in India’s preparedness and ambition to host the 2030 Commonwealth Games, saying the country is ready to deliver a world-class event. She made the remarks this week while addressing sports administrators and officials.
Murmu said India’s growing experience in staging major events strengthens its case. “India has the confidence, capacity and commitment to host global competitions,” she noted. “Sport reflects our unity and organisational strength.”
Officials involved in the bid said infrastructure development and grassroots programmes have boosted credibility. “We are building long-term systems, not just venues,” a senior sports ministry official said.
A former CWG official welcomed the endorsement. “Such backing at the highest level sends a strong signal internationally,” he said.
India is positioning the 2030 Games as part of a broader push to establish itself as a global sporting hub.
