Salah to leave Liverpool in 2026 after nine-year run

Mohamed Salah will leave Liverpool at the end of the 2025/26 season, the club confirmed on Monday, after contract talks failed, ending a trophy-filled nine-year spell at Anfield.
“This club changed my life,” Salah said, adding, “I feel it’s the right moment to move on.” The Egyptian forward scored more than 200 goals and played a key role in Liverpool’s Premier League and Champions League triumphs.
A club source called him “one of the greatest in our history,” while analysts warned “his consistency will be almost impossible to replace.”
His departure closes a golden era for Liverpool and leaves a huge gap in attack.
