Sick Ronaldo Plays Through Vomiting to Help Al Nassr Go Eight Points Clear

Cristiano Ronaldo should not have played. He played anyway.
Al Nassr’s manager Jorge Jesus revealed after Wednesday’s 1-0 win over Al Ettifaq that Ronaldo had been suffering from stomach pains and general fatigue throughout. When he was eventually substituted, he walked straight to the dressing room and vomited.
Before that, he hit the woodwork. Had a shot cleared off the line. Forced a sharp save from goalkeeper Marek Rodak — a save that led directly to Kingsley Coman tapping in the only goal in the 31st minute.
Ronaldo posted one word on social media after the final whistle. “Great energy in the stands.”
Al Nassr are eight points clear at the top of the Saudi Pro League. Al Ettifaq’s Jack Hendry was sent off late for an elbow on João Félix. None of it mattered. The three points were already safe.
