Sol Ruca pins Becky Lynch to claim Women's Intercontinental Championship

Sol Ruca defeated Becky Lynch on May 31, 2026, at WWE Clash in Italy to win the Women’s Intercontinental Championship, ending Lynch’s 43-day reign with a Sol Snatcher finisher at the Inalpi Arena in Turin.

The match was a rematch from an earlier encounter at Saturday Night’s Main Event, where Lynch had deliberately pushed referee Jessica Carr into the path of Ruca’s Sol Snatcher, drawing a disqualification. SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis subsequently booked the rematch with the title on the line. In the rematch, Lynch employed similar psychological tactics – trash talking, using Carr as an obstacle, and attempting to execute Ruca’s own finisher against her – but none proved sufficient. Ruca connected with the Sol Snatcher at a decisive moment to secure the pinfall and the championship.

Lynch had captured the title at WrestleMania 42, becoming the first three-time Women’s Intercontinental Champion in the belt’s history. For Ruca, the victory represents her first championship on the main roster. The NXT product had been elevated to the main card in part through a Saturday Night’s Main Event appearance in December, where she defeated Bayley after being personally selected for the event by John Cena.

With the title now around her waist, Ruca enters a new phase of her tenure on the main roster. Lynch, a multiple-time world champion across her career, will look to establish a path back toward championship contention following the defeat.
