Stafford Named NFL MVP as Honors Spotlight Rams, Patriots

Matthew Stafford of the Los Angeles Rams was named the 2026 NFL MVP on February 5 at the NFL Honors in San Francisco, capping a league-leading season with 4,707 passing yards and 46 touchdowns. The ceremony, held ahead of Super Bowl LX, also saw Patriots coach Mike Vrabel crowned Coach of the Year after New England’s strong turnaround.
Stafford edged New England’s Drake Maye in one of the tightest MVP votes in decades, highlighting the Rams’ offensive firepower. Cleveland’s Myles Garrett earned Defensive Player of the Year, while Carolina’s Tetairoa McMillan and Cleveland’s Carson Schwesinger took Rookie of the Year honors. Christian McCaffrey was celebrated as Comeback Player of the Year.
“It’s an honor to be recognized among such elite players,” Stafford said, thanking teammates and family. Vrabel added, “This award is for the staff and players who believed all season.” With awards spread across veterans and rising stars, the NFL Honors showcased the standout performers of the 2025 season.
