Tennis Sweeps Laureus — Alcaraz and Sabalenka Take Sportsperson of the Year

Tennis owns 2026. The Laureus Awards just made it official.
Carlos Alcaraz and Aryna Sabalenka were crowned World Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year at the Laureus World Sports Awards in Madrid on Monday — both winning the honour for the first time. The ceremony was held at Cibeles Palace and hosted by Novak Djokovic and Eileen Gu.
Alcaraz won the French Open, US Open, and Australian Open across 2025 and early 2026. Sabalenka claimed her fourth Grand Slam at the 2025 US Open and remains world No. 1.
No debate. No controversy. Just two players in a league of their own — and the trophies to prove it.
