The Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 starts December 24 and runs to January 8, bringing Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma back to India’s domestic 50-over stage as the BCCI pushes contracted stars to play.
The tournament features 32 teams split into four groups, with matches spread across five cities and 18 venues, and every game set for a 9:00am IST start. “Centrally contracted players” have been told to “feature in at least two Vijay Hazare matches,” adding extra edge to selection battles.
Fans tracking Kohli’s Delhi campaign got a late twist: the Delhi vs Andhra opener was shifted from Chinnaswamy Stadium to the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru “citing security reasons,” with matches there to be “played behind closed doors.”
