West Indies star jokes Ronaldo could rescue him

West Indies cricketer Akeal Hosein joked that football icon Cristiano Ronaldo should “send the chopper” to rescue him after travel disruptions left several players stranded in India amid rising Israel–Iran tensions affecting flight routes during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup period.
The spinner posted the light-hearted message on social media while waiting for travel clearance, turning the situation into a viral moment among fans. “@Cristiano send the chopper,” Hosein wrote, joking about a dramatic escape from the delay.
Despite the humour, the travel complications have created uncertainty for some international players trying to return home. A West Indies team source said the situation was being monitored. “The players are safe and arrangements are being worked out,” the official noted.
Hosein later reassured fans that the team remained calm despite the delay. “We’re good, just waiting for the next update,” he said.
