The 2026 Winter Olympics officially concluded on Sunday in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy, after two weeks of competition that organizers say set a new benchmark for future Games.
Thousands of athletes from more than 80 nations competed across alpine, ice and snow disciplines, delivering record-breaking performances and dramatic finishes. The closing ceremony celebrated sporting excellence and innovation that defined the first Italian-hosted Winter Games in two decades.
