Wu Yize Rises to Fourth After Crucible Win as Graeme Dott Loses Tour Status

Wu Yize beat Shaun Murphy 35 frames in the final at the Crucible. Now he’s world number four.
The Chinese player’s £500,000 prize and ranking points fired him up to a career high. Murphy, despite losing, climbed to sixth after the deep run — a small consolation for getting to the final and falling short.
At the top, nothing shifted. Judd Trump kept world number one for the fourth time in his career. Neil Robertson moved to second. Zhao Xintong holds third on limited recent ranking points.
The stories further down were harder. Robert Milkins and Mark Davis — both professionals since the 1990s, both once ranked as high as 12 — lost their tour status. Graeme Dott, a former world champion, went the same way.
Teenager Stan Moody broke into the top 40 for the first time after his Crucible debut. New names coming in. Old ones going out. That’s the tour.
